Abstract
To address the integrated demands of ecological protection, landscape coordination, and tourism service enhancement in the post-earthquake reconstruction of Chuanjiu Road following the Jiuzhaigou Earthquake, a "borderless" integration design concept was proposed, and systematic engineering practices were conducted. The concept transcends traditional road boundary thinking by establishing a three-dimensional integration framework encompassing ecology, road landscape, and transport-tourism: Near-natural ecological restoration was implemented based on habitat grading, and the ecological, stable, and fertile (ESF) high-performance restoration technology was developed and applied; the route was segmented according to geomorphological and cultural characteristics to achieve synergy between the road landscape and the regional natural and cultural sceneries; a fast-slow combined composite tourism service system was constructed by repurposing maintenance stations and spoil areas. Practices demonstrate that the design effectively enhances the vegetation recovery rate and ecosystem stability in the earthquake-damaged areas, significantly improves the highway landscape quality and visitor experience, and successfully achieves a win-win situation of "zero spoil" and tourism space expansion. It provides a replicable technical pathway and practical paradigm for green highway and transport-tourism integration projects.
